salvaged english garden gate ironwork, from london
…this storybook style decorative gate ironwork was found in a trip sourcing in london, england. it features a shield with a lowercase h or b, or an uppercase h with some sort of decorative design around it, kind of hard to tell. additionally, two lions adorned with royal crowns flank the shield. the filigree and scrollwork detailing end on one side with what appears to be a dragon. oh to imagine what gate this may have been attached to and what abode this greeted visitors to.
condition notes: this is a salvaged gate decoration that had been exposed to the elements and a bit rusted as shown, all part of the whimsical charm! there is an extension on the back that prevents the item from laying flat, that extension protrudes giving the piece the 3.5” depth listed below. any questions please let us know.
